5-6pm ages 14 and older  general dance

Invitational Callbacks *you will be notified either at your audition or in an email by May 3rd*

This year you will sign up for a Vocal Slot AND a Dance Slot.  Find your Vocal Slot on either Friday April 18, Saturday April 19 or Saturday May 3 and sign up. Then you must ALSO sign up for a General Dance Slot  that matches your age range on April 19 (there are two.) If you are a tapper and want to be considered for tapping in the show, sign up for the Tappers of All Ages slot IN ADDITION to a general dance slot that matches your age range. 

*Note the categories for dance auditions*

  • 3-4pm Children ages 8-10 general dance
  • 4-5pm Tap for ALL AGES
  • 5-6 ages 14 and older general dance.

Ages 8 and older may audition for this show.

 During the vocal slot you will sing a specific song cut from the show.  The music will be provided to you.  You will be singing with piano accompaniment and there will be an accompanist at the auditions.
The song selections will include a cut from the following:  

Choose the song that matches the role for which you are auditioning:

  • If I Only Had a Heart—-Tin Man
  • If I Were King of the Forest–Cowardly Lion
  • Munchkin Musical Sequence—Glinda
    • (some also call this Come Out, Come Out Wherever You Are)
  • Yellow Brick Road–ages 11 and up choice #2
  • If I Only Had a Brain–Scarecrow
  • Merry Old Land of Oz–ages 11 and up choice # 1
  • Ding Dong the Witch is Dead—ages 8-10
  • Over the Rainbow—Dorothy

*For ensemble ages 11 and up it doesn’t matter which cut you choose. The Vocal Director liked both of these choices!

When you Sign up, there will be an Audition Form required as part of the Sign Up.  Above that form is the Welcome Letter which has a lot of great information, including the Audition Packet AND the Dance video, and will answer most of your questions.  This letter is also included in the audition packet. 

Video submissions will be accepted for this show and will be due on the third day of auditions–prior to callbacks. Email summermusicalenteprise@gmail.com for instructions.
