Catherine Hester Addington (Sea Creature / Animal)

Catherine Hester (sea creature and animal) is delighted to be making her debut with Summer Musical. Resent credits include Scrooge the Musical with New River Stage. She can contribute her dancing experience to New River Valley Academy of Dance. Where she has been a student for 5 years.

Carly Sumpter (Sea Creature / Animal)

Carly Sumpter is an upcoming Senior at Radford University studying Production Technology and minoring in Theatre. She’s excited to be back on the stage in her first production since high school. While working on The Little Mermaid, Carly is also assisting with costumes for Legally Blonde with Showtimers in Roanoke. Carly would like to thank her mom, dad, grandma, brother Kyle and friends Tyler, Madi, Zion and RJ for always pushing her to be the best she can be!

Brynn Yaun (Attina)

Brynn Yaun is thrilled to be performing in The Little Mermaid with Summer Musical Enterprises and to share her passion for the arts. Some favorite shows include Blacksburg High School’s Mamma Mia!, After Hours, and It’s a Wonderful Life. In the fall, Brynn will be attending Virginia Tech to pursue a major in Biochemistry and a minor in French. She would like to thank her family, both on and off stage, for always supporting her and for reminding her just how wonderful the world can be.

Brian Bush (Scuttle)

Brian Bush is thrilled to be back onstage with Summer Musical Enterprise this year! Brian is seventeen years old and attends Blacksburg High School in Blacksburg, Virginia. Recent credits include: Mamma Mia! (Bill Austin), Clue On Stage (Mr. Green), and Singin’ in the Rain (Roscoe Dexter/Production Tenor). He would like to thank his parents for dealing with his crazy schedule and his fellow seagulls for being the wiggle in his waddle. Enjoy the show! AWK!

Anna Gibbs (Andrina / Ariel Understudy)

Anna Gibbs is thrilled to be returning to stage in her third SME production. Some of her favorite roles include performing Belle in Beauty and the Beast (a SME show), Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls, and Portia in While Shakespeare Slept. When she is not performing onstage, Anna works for NLCF, a church and campus ministry at Virginia Tech, leading worship, discipling students, and equipping leaders.

Anna Brown (Sea Creature / Animal)

Anna Brown is very excited to be a part of this musical. She performed in the musical MAMMA MIA at Blacksburg High School and SHREK THE MUSICAL JR. at Kaysville Jr.High. She is a student at Blacksburg High School. She loves theatre and would like to continue doing shows.

Amelia Cameron (Princess / Sea Creature / Animal / Maid)

Amelia Cameron is glad to continue performing with Summer Musical Enterprise in her fifth production with their company. She has enjoyed performing since she began theatre classes at age five, and is excited to continue pursuing the arts as she earns her BFA in filmmaking at UNC School of the Arts. “Being a part of The Little Mermaid for a second time after performing it my freshman year seems like the perfect ending to a theatre filled high school career.”

Amanda Sobrado (Sea Creature / Animal)

Amanda Sobrado is delighted to be making her debut with the Summer Musical Enterprise. She has been dancing since the age of 5 at Dance Tech Performing Arts Studio. She has been trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and contemporary, her favorites being jazz and contemporary. She has done competitive dancing since first grade. Amanda is a freshman at Blacksburg High School and while in middle school she was also part of the Drama Club for two years. She loves animals and is a volunteer at Montgomery County animal care and adoption center.

Amanda Edwards (Princess / Maid)

Amanda Edwards is extremely excited to be performing as an ensemble member and flyer with Summer Musical Enterprise for the first time. She has recently performed in many productions with Blacksburg High School. Some of her favorite productions include Mamma Mia, Annie Get Your Gun, and Singin’ in the Rain. Amanda is an incoming student at Virginia Tech with a major in Industrial & Systems Engineering.

Alex Freeman (Sailor)

Alex Freeman is returning to the stage after a 20-year leave. Having performed in High School as Rev Tevya in Fiddler on the Roof, Teddy in Arsenic and Old Lace, and a soldier in college in the Sound of Music. During his break from theatre he has studied Pre-med, Philosophy and Business. He is now a partner in the elevator consulting firm KP Property Advisors. He finds his job very UP lifting even though it has it’s UPs and DOWNs. He is mostly excited to be in a play with his 9-year old son, Perry Freeman.
