This is Ameila’s 14th SME production, starting with Mame in 1994. It is good to get back after a 7 year hiatus between Cinderella and Sweeney Todd. She has also been in the chorus of a number of Opera Roanoke productions from 1989 to 2012 and has sung with the Blacksburg Master Chorale most semesters since its founding. When not singing, she has been a laboratory technician in various departments around Virginia Tech. Cooking is a hobby, although not pies!

Shaye Lester

This is Shaye’s 4th show with Summer Musical Enterprise and her 7th show overall. Her most recent role was that of Vanessa in a spin-off version of The Little Mermaid through Little Leapers in Blacksburg. She also participated in SME’s production of Beauty and the Beast during Summer 2017. Along with theatre, she also loves baking, cake decorating, painting, reading, and
gymnastics. She hopes to participate in many additional shows in the future!

Josalyn Amodeo

Josalyn is so excited to be in her second SME show, having made her debut as the Enchantress in last year’s Beauty and the Beast. She performed in a number of Blacksburg High School shows, most recently Annie Get Your Gun. She also played Belle in a production of Beauty and the Beast. Josalyn graduated from Blacksburg this past May and hopes to spend the next year or so focusing on vocal training. She’d like to thank her friends, family, and community for supporting her in
her passion for theatre and music.

Roxi Jara

This is Roxi’s 3rd production with Summer Musical Enterprise. In previous years she’s been a member of the ensemble for both Beauty and the Beast 2017, and Peter Pan 2012 (played an Indian). She studies dance with Little Leapers dance studio in Blacksburg, where she’s performed with them in their last four productions as a dancer/actor/singer/rapper/costume designer/maker. She has been in several productions of The Nutcracker, as a maid, solo Jester, and Spanish Matador. Roxi also had her first improv show downtown this year through Little Leapers. She is so delight and thrilled to be part of Sweeney Todd, another amazing show for SME! She loves sharing the stage and her passion with all her extremely talented friends, new and old. When she is not rehearsing or going to dance class she makes costumes for the conventions she attends. She works at Virginia Tech and at NRVCS. She has been part of the NRV community since 2008 so perhaps at some point you’ve given a
nod to Roxi.

Daniel Lewis

This is Daniel’s fourth show with SME following an extended hiatus spent obtaining his teaching license. He most recently appeared as Gaston in SME’s 2017 production of Beauty and the Beast. He would like to thank his family for their support, and the cast and crew for their hard work and dedication.

Chandra Shorter

Chandra is thrilled to be participating in her second show with Summer Musical Enterprise. Her previous performance experiences include Ma Moss (The Tenderland), Meredith Parker (Bat Boy the Musical), Amy/Older Woman (Putting it Together) and Silly Girl (Beauty and the Beast). When she isn’t on stage, Chandra’s “professional role” is as a children’s therapist for a local non-profit agency. Her hobbies include reading as many books as she can get her hands on, traveling, and spending time with her husband and two fur-babies.

Jon Greene

Jon is thrilled to death to be returning for his third consecutive performance with SME. He has been huge fan of musicals ever since being awestruck by productions of Pippin and A Chorus Line as a child. Jon would like to thank his friends and family, as well as the entire cast, production crew and orchestra, for their continued support and unwavering belief in the magic of
theater.
